Import Settings

Prev Next

A configuration item (CI) is anything you track in the CMDB, such as assets, software products, catalog items, companies, and users. Import Settings lets you automate that tracking: turn on a setting, and SysAid creates or removes the matching CI the moment the underlying System Item changes, without you having to import it manually.

Available for:

Customers using SysAid Spaces. If you're using SysAid Classic, see Import Settings.

Configure CI imports

  1. Go to Settings > Setup & Monitoring > CMDB > Import Settings.

  2. Select or clear the checkboxes for each behavior you want SysAid to perform automatically.

  3. Click Save before exiting.

These checkboxes only affect CIs imported after you save this page, they don't apply retroactively to CIs already in your CMDB.

Please note:

  • The automatic import behavior for new assets is based on the filter defined when uploading an asset. To limit which assets get imported, create a filter first on the Importing System Items page.

  • To control which asset fields carry over when a CI is created automatically, see Import Asset to CI Settings.
