Article Summary

SysAid comes fully equipped with a complete asset management system. You will easily keep track of all of your physical IT assets within SysAid in order to optimally manage your overall IT environment. Benefits of SysAid Asset Management include:

  • Real time inventory of computers, mobile devices, and network devices
  • Remote control to your computers
  • Software license tracking
  • Service record history for all assets

In order to benefit from SysAid Asset Management, you must import all of your assets into SysAid. In SysAid, there are effectively three different types of assets:

  1. Computers
  2. SNMP devices
  3. Smartphones
  4. Everything else

The differences between these types of assets are as follows:

Computers

You install the SysAid agent onto computers for automatic, real-time asset management. Alternatively, you may import Windows computers by performing a WMI scan.

SNMP devices

You perform regular network scans to identify, import, and update your various different SNMP devices.

Everything else

Any non-computer, non-SNMP device is imported into SysAid manually, either one-by-one, or all at once from a .csv file.
