What is the SysAid Browser Extension?
Your organization uses SysAid License Manager to understand which business applications are being used and how software licenses are being utilized.
The SysAid Browser Extension helps identify usage of business SaaS applications, such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, and other work-related tools. This helps your IT team reduce unused licenses, avoid duplicate software costs, and make sure employees have access to the tools they need.
The extension is designed to measure business application usage. It does not monitor personal browsing or the content of your work.
How does the extension work?
The extension detects when you access recognized business applications through your browser.
This analysis happens locally in your browser. No passwords, cookies, login information, messages, files, form inputs, or page content are sent to SysAid.
When a business application is detected, SysAid records limited application-level usage information, such as the application that was used and basic usage frequency over time.
What data is collected?
SysAid collects limited usage information for detected business applications, such as:
The business application that was accessed
The related business domain, such as microsoft365.com or salesforce.com
This information helps your IT team understand application usage and license utilization.
SysAid does not collect:
Passwords
Cookies or login information
Emails, chats, or messages
Files or documents
Form inputs
Content you view or create inside applications
Keystrokes
Screen activity
Full browsing history
In other words, SysAid can help your IT team understand that a business application was used, but not what you typed, viewed, edited, downloaded, or sent inside that application.
Does the extension track personal applications or websites?
No. The SysAid Browser Extension is designed to detect business SaaS applications used within your organization. It does not analyze or store usage of personal websites or consumer applications.
Examples of business applications that may be detected:
Microsoft 365
Salesforce
HubSpot
Other work-related SaaS applications used by your organization
Examples of personal applications that are not tracked:
Facebook
Instagram
Netflix
Spotify
Personal shopping, entertainment, or social media sites
Some platforms offer both personal and business services, such as LinkedIn and LinkedIn Recruiter, or Facebook and Meta Ads Manager. In these cases, the extension is designed to identify only the business-related service.
What does IT see?
Your IT team sees business application usage information in SysAid License Manager. This can help them understand which applications are being used, which licenses may be unused, and where software access can be improved.
They do not see what you type, view, edit, download, or send inside those applications.
Does it affect browser performance?
No. The extension is lightweight and runs quietly in the background.
Can I remove it?
The extension is usually installed and managed by your organization. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your IT team.
