An Entity is any item type that holds a particular type of information (e.g. Service Records, Assets, Tasks, Projects) and has its own predefined Fields.
Examples of Predefined Fields:
- Service Record Entity: Status
- Assets Entity: Type
In SysAid ITSM Edition only, you can add Custom Fields to Supported Entities, which will then show up for use in the appropriate Lists and Forms.
You can create Triggers for each Entity-type, which will affect the Form page for that Entity and allow you to perform specific actions (e.g. data validation or data export to an external database).
Triggers an be:
- On Load
- Before Save
- After Save
You can add Custom Fields and Triggers to the following entities, as shown in the image above:
- Asset
- Service Record
- Task
- Project
- CI
- User
- Company
- Action Item
