Deploying the SysAid Browser Extension in Chrome via Google Admin and CBCM

Prev Next

Use this guide to deploy the SysAid Browser Extension to enrolled Chrome browsers using Google Admin and Chrome Browser Cloud Management (CBCM).

This cloud-based deployment method works across Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS, and lets IT admins centrally install and manage the extension without requiring manual installation on each device.

Before you start

You’ll need your SysAid Browser Extension ID and Token.

To find them:

  1. In SysAid, go to License Manager > Applications Discovery.

  2. Click Manage Connections in the top right corner.

  3. Under Browser Extension, click Setup to see the ID and Token.

Deploy the extension

  1. In your Google Admin console, go to Chrome browser > Apps & extensions > Users & browsers, then select the target organizational unit (OU).

  2. Click + > Add Chrome app or extension by ID.

  3. Paste the Extension ID from your SysAid account.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Open the extension row and set the Installation policy to Force install.

  6. In Policy for extensions, paste the Token JSON, then click Save: { "token": { "Value": "YOUR_TOKEN_VALUE" } }

Please note:

If a device also has a local registry/profile policy (Source Platform) for the same setting, it overrides this Cloud policy, and the Token is ignored. Remove leftover local Chrome policy on CBCM devices.

Verify the setup

To verify the setup, open chrome://policy, search for SysAid, and check:

  • The force-install policy and a token row appear.

  • The extension is enabled (Status OK).

  • You can see the extension on your browser.
