# Project Settings

The following page controls settings for the Task and Project module.

**Notify Managers when a project is assigned to them**
A project manager will be notified if a project is assigned to them. You specify a project manager under **Tools > Tasks and Projects > Projects > (Individual project)**	  .

**Notify Manager about project changes**
The manager of a project will receive notifications if changes are made to that project. A change is made any time somebody clicks **OK/Apply**	  for that project.

**Notify users when they are assigned a task**
Notifies a user when that user is assigned to a task. You may specify users per task under **Tools > Tasks and Projects > Tasks > (Individual task) > Users (tab)**. Please note that the notification sent is as long as the user appears on the users list,  regardless of what role the user acutally has.

**Notify Users when a task changes**
Users assigned to a task will receive notifications if changes are made to that task. A change is made any time somebody clicks **OK/Apply**	  for that task.

**The field for presenting the Gantt of Projects from the Project list**
Choose the field used to calculated Gantt progress bars. the **Progress**	  field is entered into projects manually, whereas the **Calculated Progress**	  field is calculated automatically based upon task activity times of activities in that project.
